Personal data

We can gather information personal to you in a few ways, when you submit information via our on-line forms, via our use of cookies (see Cookies), and via our server logs.

How we use this information

Importantly the only personal data that we use to identify you is that information submitted by you via any on-line forms to help us take action on your request. We have no need, desire or reason to disclose your personal information to any other party.

Cookies

In the context of the internet at least, a cookie is a small bit of text that a website like ours can send to your web browser when you view a page. If your web browser is set to store cookies it will save it and send it back to us when you view another page on our domain (https://harleypartners.com).

Why do that?

We do it for a few reasons, so that we can differentiate between the visitor browsing sessions on our site. By giving your web browser a unique session id at the start of your browsing session, we know it's the same person (or at least web browser) when it gets sent back to us on any subsequent pages you visit.

By doing this we are able to show relevant messages to you, take for example when you submit a form on our site, we want to be able to express how grateful we are when the page refreshes.

We also do this to store simple state information, such as whether your device is capable of displaying high resolution images.

That's all our own cookies are for. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies, and we don't use cookies to follow you around the web.

Other services on our pages

A few things on our pages come from other services. When your browser loads them, those services receive the same basic information any website gets, such as your IP address, and some of them set cookies of their own.

• Videos. YouTube videos play in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies unless you play the video. Vimeo videos play with Vimeo's "do not track" setting, so the player doesn't track your viewing, though Vimeo may set a short-lived security cookie.
• Contact form. Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to check that a person, not a spam robot, is sending it. reCAPTCHA sets a cookie for that check, and what it collects is used only to protect the form.
• Calendars. If a page shows a Google Calendar, Google may set its own cookies when the calendar loads.
• Fonts. Some page designs load their fonts from Google Fonts, which sets no cookies.

There are actually no cookies currently stored in your web browser by our site, meaning you have probably turned off support for cookies. Poor us. You should at least be able to browse the site without problem.
